Given what a light change this is, the review process seems somewhat cumbersome, feel like just committing the change and updating the tracking ticket would have sufficed, for this, thoughts?

Builds fine on macOS. Yes, I'd say if there is a heads-up elsewhere (e.g. bchat) then I wouldn't mind getting in such smaller changes quicker.

I don't mind either way. I'm fine having this as explicit patch, but as this doesn't impact building Blender itself it's also fine for me to just commit such small things.
