This way it is possible to have viewport simplification bumped all the way up,
making viewport really responsive but still have final render to use highest
subdivision possible.

for the ui - the ":" is missing after the viewport/render and the slider/number field should not be aligned

UI code looks mostly good, small things noted below. Also I would not align the columns (neither BI nor Cycles). The space saving is minimal and the settings do not really belong to each other. I did compile the patch and checked without alignment, that looks good to me.
