Summary

This fixes the problem while keeping the tests working, but it looks kinda bad. Still checking for a better solution.

Not having tested this, I believe that the changes should also apply to text objects, if they are handled the same way by Cycles.

I've added D13118, which I think is the correct solution to this problem.
