Summary

This was basically not implemented, do this via
ED_autokeyframe_property in a new dedicated function in
special_aftertrans_update.

Ah I see how this works, So you have to basically "hijack" automation that has been implemented for RNA/buttons. I too thought this "just works" for everything.
