The Intel Unix driver doesn't support hardware accelerated GL_SELECT
calls. Selecting in even moderately complex scenes takes too long. This
patch activates GL occlusion queries for those drivers when the
"Selection Method" is set to "Automatic" in the user settings, making
selection much faster.

I don't think having this for windows would be bad. Intel GPUs crash on high poly count with OpenGL select
