This is my first time submitting code so I hope I did it right, creating one diff for each patch (this and D2378). They're small and simple so hopefully they should be uncontroversial!

This and D2378 are two followups to a commit i made a year ago D1475. Would be great if they could be reviewed soon, we plan to make more contributions to the Blender X3D exporter... Thanks!
