Summary

This patch adds sculpt mode brush pressure curve mapping for size and strength. Also changes width of smooth stroke line to be thinner when it's nearer to smooth stroke radius to show when a brush stroke is about to start.

D2889 also adds brush curve mapping.
Is there any reason this can't be used for all other painting tools (vertex, projection, weight, grease pencil... etc)?

Sorry for the late response, yes this should probably apply to all painting tools. I havn't been able to work on this for some time but I will try to update this patch when I can.
