Summary

Porting Export3ds to Blender 2.82 with shader node support
D7200 T66329

  • if using nodes, all materials and images are taken from principled bsdf shader
  • support for all possible texture mappings supported by 3ds format
  • textures taken from diffuse, specular, roughness, metallic, alpha and normalmap channels if valid connection
  • texture scale and offset taken from texture mapping if available

When is the 3DS exporter going to be put back in Blender stable version of 2.83?

Here is the new version, wich should be compatible with Blender 2.83 - 3ds is not an offical supported format anymore.

Here is my contribution to the code - it is ready for release

The latest one is D7454 - it includes a major update for the importer and exporter. This one is obsolete but I can not delete it

okay - how does that work? already searched for the option
