Event TimelineComment Actions Online converters to title case say the "from" should remain lower case. Everything else seems fine too. Comment Actions "Project From View" - in AP, APA, and New York Times style. https://titlecaseconverter.com/blog/is-from-capitalized/ Currently in Blender, next to each other:
Comment Actions It would be nice to just pick an official style guide so we can point to something as authoritative in cases like this. AP style would be my pick. Another one in this set that, I think, differs between styles is “Convert To”. At least for AP the final To” is capitalized while it would not be when inside of “Convert to Mesh” Comment Actions I tend to follow guidelines from MLA and Wikipedia, MLA because that is what I am personal use to, and Wikipedia because of its "Open Content" culture. Comment Actions Interestingly, the guidelines say every word should be capitalized. However we don't follow this at all in practice, as one can easily confirm by opening a few menus. I'd propose changing to a clearly defined title case then. I don't have a strong opinion on which, but my proposal would be the MLA style, which I think is simpler than the Wikipedia style and defines rules for hyphenated terms. MLA and Wikipedia seem almost identical though, except for few corner cases. Comment Actions Opened a task to discuss the title case format T79589. I'll wait for this to be decided before committing this patch. I see a few more changes in this patch that depend on the exact style we settle on.
Comment Actions @Julian Eisel (Severin) - Looking at a couple of these patches, they do seem to conform nicely to MLA style, which I assume is what we have agreed on. A couple things I noticed that might be nice to add to our docs though:

Ampersand should not be used in natural language so it shouldn't be used in tooltips in this case use and. Using "and" is for engaging and explaining. Ampersands should be used in areas that are intended for indications such as labels and menu items. This makes them more concise and usually the user is not exactly reading the text but usually quickly glancing for key identifiable features, using the word "and" here is confusing because our brain wants ro read it instead of identifying "&" which is depicted in our brains more like a picture. | ||||||
