Fixes T80269.
I decided to change it in Complex Mode and not in Simple Mode
because of multiple reasons:

1 Backwards compatibility

2 It is a useful behaviour for outlines since this way you can change
to the outline material due to index clamping even when the normal
mesh has multiple different materials.
