Hi, I just tried installed an addon, but blender doesn't allow the addon to connect to the internet, because i'm using a proxy on my computer (linux).
Normally blender addons connect on normal internet, but when using a proxy, blender doesn't connect. Is there a way to fix this in blender itself? (There is something called proxy chains which can start an app through terminal, and run it through proxy, but it's an extra step)
I'm just wondering if there's any simple fix for this.
Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the report. I doubt vanilla Blender is preventing the connection.
As far as I understand proxy server is blocking the access. So configuring proxy server properly might help you.
If this happens with particular add-ons then report the issue to add-on developers.
Not a bug in Blender so closing this ticket.
