[Adding Sub-division surface Modifier freezes blender]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Open Blender
  2. Go to modifier tab
  3. Select subdivision surface modifier
  4. Blender is freezing

Please update GPU drivers. If that doesn't help, check if disabling Viewport > Subdivision > GPU subdivision in Preferences resolves the crash.

Updating GPU drivers doesn't worked however disabling GPU subdivision worked. Thanks.

Did you update IGPU drivers from intel website or device manager?

Hi Ajay, system-info captured 27.20.100.8854 as your driver version so I doubt they are recent.
As far as I can tell, recent version is 31.0.101.3790 / 31.0.101.2114: https://www.intel.in/content/www/in/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html
