Short description of error
[Crashes upon video sequencer timeline hitting a custom font text strip after saving the .blend file, closing, and re-opening ]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Start blender in video editing mode. Add image sequence to sequencer. Add text strip with custom font on another channel overlapping the image sequence. Save .blend file and close. Re-open saved file and press play in the video sequencer or drag the timeline in the video sequencer to the text strip with the custom font. Blender crashes at the custom font text strip. ]
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

Hi, thanks for the report. I'm unable to reproduce the crash in 3.3.1 with below setup. Can you confirm whether it is correct?

I apologize. It seems to be something wrong with several blend files I have created in an older version. Then opened in 3.3.1. The latest file I created with 3.3.1 is not having any problems including the one you created. Sorry for wasting your time. Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for the update. Maybe it'd still be considered as a valid bug if you've a exact way to generate a file in previous versions.
