Sculpting tool not pointing at Mouse Pointer in perspective view

Operating system: win 10 pro
Graphics card: geforce rtx 2060

Blender Version 3.4
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
working with a Landscape object. Sculpting it. Any of the sculpting tools does not target where the mouse is pointing at in Perspective view.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Make a Landscape object, and try sculpting it.

Not sure what exactly you mean by "Landscape object" , you mean an object created with the A.N.T. Landscape Addon?
Even with that, I cannot reproduce this..

Can you share a .blend file with such an object that fails?
(might also help to share showing this in action with a screencast)

Yes, it's the ANT landscape object.

Ah, it was the Clip Start value. When I made it bigger (0.01 m), then the sculpting tool works fluidly.
