Hey,
Had a crash in blender 2.46 on windows XP sp3. I have attached the blend file and some screenshots of what sorta error information I could dig up.
To reproduce:
- open the .blend
- split the window and open a UV/image viewer in one
- set render output to internal viewer
- set uv viewer to render result
- F12 and render using current settings
- once rendered, press the "Draw alpha only" button
- crash!
NOTE: the gdb was on an svn copy since I didnt have debug info in the release
Let me know if you need more info

Another thing I forgot to mention, hitting the "a" key on the external render window works fine, I only get a crash when I use the button in the internal viewer.
I couldn't redo the problem on Ubuntu Linux 64bit and Windows XP. It might be an opengl issue due to graphics driver differences. Can you test if drawing the z buffer also crashes (button right next to draw alpha) ?
No, clicking that button didnt do it, but I noticed something else. If I just start blender up and go right to reproducing it crashes like usual, but if I click the other two buttons sveral times in random orders and then click the alpha button, I got it to work once and it stayed working. Even after I kept blender running and reopened the file and tried just the alpha, it worked. But as soon as I close blender and tried again, it went back to crashing.
Worth mentioning, I am using slightly older Ati video drivers to work around the Ati gl select slowdown bug. Also, if you need a video recording or something of what im doing, let me know.
I can't reproduce it in linux and blender svn revision 15360, maybe windows realted only
Dan: the 'draw alpha only' uses a nice opengl feature, that one might cause your problem. It is basic but uncommon opengl, probably only supported when your drivers are good.
Ton,
Sorry, but I was offline for a fortnight while I changed addresses and its been a little busy around here. I only came back online in irc recently (aka troubled) and I am still playing catch up.
Before I left though, I did upload the broken twit.blend file to show you the files. I was told not to upload the blend without trimming it first, but some of the devs grabbed the one I uploaded to the public ftp a few weeks ago (you gave me the http address to the uploads remember?).
Anyways, I chatted with a few of the guys on irc the other day and we figured it was just a graphics driver issue with my card. I will try again on a clean install or vm and let you know what I get when I have a chance.
Sorry for the confusion and delay! :)
PS - This reply will be used for the other bug as well as we assume its the same problem.
This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
