After initializing Blender 2.46 (may release) none of the top drop down boxes will open.

Event Timeline

Did this start with Blender 2.46 or did it also happen on older versions? Do the menus for other areas work, like the ones in the 3d view, buttons window, ..? As far as I know these should work the same way.

This does not happen in older versions of Blender and all the other (3d buttons work fine)

This is most likely a graphics glitch on your system... I also want to urge you to test this with older versions carefully again. The code for drawing menus didn't change in many releases (at least since 2.40), all of them should give a similar error.

Also note that I use osx ppc 10.3, ati 9600, with no problems. We keep carefully track of proper opengl code in blender, it's the same code for all platforms.

Issue resolved.

I tried reducing the dpi on the monitor to 600-800 and it allowed the app to load and function properly.

I increased the dpi back up again and it started malfunctioning.

You can close this case.

Thanks

Terry
