I'm pretty sure blender shouldn't do this - http://handydan.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/textureerror.png
On the right is the image that is being UV mapped to the model.
I use OpenSUSE linux, and graphics drivers are nvidia and up to date. The version of blender I'm using is built by me from latest SVN using gcc 4.2.1 with -O2 optimization.
It does this intermittently with all my files that use UV textures. It stops if I go into texture paint mode and draw, but reappears if I leave texture paint mode.
Description
Event Timeline
I can't redo this problem here.
- Does it also happen in the official build?
- Does it only start showing when you are further away from the object and not when you're zoomed in close?
- If you set the GL Texture Clamp under System & OpenGL to a size smaller than your texture, does the problem go away?
- Does the problem go away if you disable Mipmaps?
- Please provide exact specs with the Help > System > System Information tool.
- yes, it does happen in the official build, but not in the static one.
- It shows at all levels of zoom,
- changing GL Texture Clamp changes the size of the pattern, but doesn't fix the problem.
- disabling Mipmaps changes the pattern, but doesn't fix it.

(*) Found 2 notices, documented in the text above.
Tried here with an Quadro FX 1700 and no errors.
It could be interesting to see if changing the tile settings makes any difference. is this error visible in the game engine, or when you disable mipmaps.
However since this works with static OpenGL this is almost certainly an error with your drivers.
Moving to OpenGL errors, we probably cant fix this. This report could be useful to the driver vendors.
I disagree. I think that seeing as it happens most the time, but not all of the time (ie not in texture paint mode after starting to paint), a workaround must exist. If, by any remote chance, I make a patch which fixes it, would you be willing to commit it to svn?
This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
