z-shading works for this mesh/material under OSX, not under Fedora 9
Closed, ArchivedPublicKNOWN ISSUE

Description

I have created a mesh which behaves as expected under Mac OSX. And which seemed to work also OK under Fedora 9 until recently. Under Fedora 9, it now renders as all purple (Depth 0 is the material name) when activating the flat Z shading (Solid) model in the 3d window. When I change to Shaded or Textured, it shows all the 10 colors that are assigned to the mesh.

I expect that this is a problem with Fedora, not Blender, but want to see whether it could possibly be a bug in the way that Blender is using OpenGL codes.

Event Timeline

I tried it with Ubuntu 8.04 and Shift-Z (Shading) shows all colors. This is with an nvidia card and nvidia proprietary drivers 169.12.

Yeah, we had this reported once before... switching material color is a very basic OpenGL feature, but sometimes not tested inbetween releases.

Michael: just try older or newer drivers, and you're most likely set! :)

This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
