The Sculpt tools, with the exception of grab do not work under Mac OSX 10.3. An intel mac running the PPC binary can simulate this issues. 10.4 PPC does not show this problem. Initial checks of RC 2.47 show its still an issue.
Testing:
Create a cube, mutires it, go to sculpt and you will get the brush outline but no action will happen when you click on the object.

I have a 10.3 PPC here (G5 dual, ATI) and the 2.47 works fine for sculpt.
Running a ppc binary on intel mac isn't a good test in my opinion. What 10.3 configuration you tested?
It was an early G5 iMac, I'll get the specs when I see that user online again but from what I recall he had python 2.5 installed from python.org
From what I was told no additional changes were made and the system was close to stock software wise.
early G5 imac means the GMA integrated graphics no ?
Possibly the culprit. we had similar reports early for mini, which was solved later.
There are still reports with Macs and integrated chipsets in the opengl tracker.
We cannot do anything about it... apart from welcoming a developer to carefully test it on this Imac and try to find a bypass. Be assured we use the same code for all platforms and Blender versions, and it runs well in almost all cases (at least on all quality graphics cards).
This is a generic request to test your bug report and see if it is still an issue in 2.5alpha2 if so please let me know by making a comment in this report ie 'also in 2.5alpha2' and I will add it to the 2.5 bug list.
