adding lights in editmode inconsistency/segfault

Description

In mesh editmode, non mesh objects can be added to the scene from the main menu at the top. When adding a NURB for example, blender goes back into object mode, and adds the NURB, however if a lamp is added, then nothing happens.
Furthermore, if you happen to add an area lamp, blender segfaults when you exit edit mode.

This patch fixes the first problem directly, which indirectly fixes the second problem. Because the segfault only happens with the area lamp, there may be something else going on.

I'm pretty sure this can be closed; this issue doesn't seem to be present in the latest release that i have available (2.62).
