This adds meta- and shift-KP* to align the view with the other two orthogonals, and C-KP*, C-M-KP* and C-S-KP* to 180 them (like C-KP1/3/7 does). It also accepts S-M-KP* as an ugly alias for C-M-KP* because the latter is a difficult-to-override hotkey in X.

Now I know why KP* didn't do the other axes: view3d_align_axis_to_vector() was broken. Now it's fixed. The new patch version is still incomplete - it doesn't add the new alignments for object-mode KP*, but at least the new version graduates from 'broken' to 'incomplete'.
Campbell - yes, the bugfix part is the view.c hunk at the end. The test for it is to try the reverse-view options (C-KP*, and S-V C-1/2/3) on any basis vector.
I regard having the unmodified side view be the only one that views from the -ve direction as a bug. If you want to preserve the original inverted-+ve x-axis view I'll post a new patch with just that; otherwise just `d/view.c/-1`.
