If you animate composite node values (no matter what) they update ok on the screen and render ok whith F12 (one image), but if you render an animation, all nodes are frozen.
I hope some coder can check this frame updater bug for animated nodes.
Blender 2.5 (x86_64), latest svn, OS X Snow Leopard.

I found a workaround what may help you to find the bug:
If you add a node of type "Render Layers" (even if not used like on my example), the rendered animation is OK.
