OS: Windows Vista SP 2
Hardware: acer Aspire 5930 with GeForce 9600M GT
Blender Version: 2.5 SVN build 26827
The computer keeps shutting down at random while working on a file that uses 2 stacked array-modifiers and a lattice deform on top of them. It sometimes shuts down during rendering, sometimes while moving objects or adjusting a property. Couldn't find out what exactly triggers the shutdown. Also it might have happened sooner when using raytracing (e.g. for shadows or AO).
The file causing the crash is attached.

This has to be a hardware or driver problem. blender cant shut down a system.
Try...
- See if your processor is overheating.
- Update your openGL drivers
- Run blender without openGL acceleration (switch to VESA or VGA drivers)
- Run stress testing software, see if this crashes
- Test your ram with http://www.memtest.org
- Render in background mode, if this doesnt crash then its probably a graphics issue.
closing.
