* Add a "Difference Key" node to the compositor
* Connect any sort of source image to its "Image 1" input.
* Set your "Image 2" input directly to a single color (or use an RGB input node)
* The output of the "Difference Key" node will not give any results

Works fine if one uses an image map as input for "Image 2".
