Major problems when running from a network share

Description

When Blender 2.5 r27832 is run from a network share most of the user interface text is missing and the menu does not show up.

Mapping a drive letter to the network share and running blender from the mapped drive works around this problem.

The problem is the work around is not obvious.

If I double click on the Blender executable it should just work

This is not really a Blender Problem, more a problem of your system/configuration I guess. For some Reason the blender binary doesnt fint the script folder.

I use Blender 2.5.2 SVN myself in a windows network, starting it from a network share too, without problems. There shouldn't be any problems, when your script folder is where it should be.

It doesn't work on either my 2003R2 or XP SP3 machines running off a windows 7 network share but it does work when I map the drive to the exact same share.

Where in the source should I look to find where it is looking for it's resources? I've come across this problem in other software and it's usually caused by a slightly malformed pathname which new versions of windows correct but older versions return an error.
