Blender 28256 Windows XP 64 3Gb
Hi All,
By mistake I drag dropped a python file on the Blender icon which resides on my Windows Desktop. The OS, of course, launched blender and passed the .PY file to blender to process. This causes Blender to crash on launch. I also tried drag-dropping a quicktime movie on Blender. The same thing.
My guess is that Blender is blindly processing the contents of a drag drop operation as if it were a BLEND file.
This is a bug, Blender should not crash. Ideally, if I drop a python script onto BLender, it should just add that script into the text window, don't you think? An image should got to a texture and so on...

It appears to be fixed in 28523.
I no longer get the crash.
However, Blender does nothing with the python file when I drop it on the icon. Blender seems to discard the information.

I recently discovered another file that causes Blender to crash if you drag drop it on shortcut on the Windows desktop.
Crash occurs using 29442 on Windows XP 64 SP1.

There are still crashes possible with this - tested with builds from today.
Since drag & drop of files is not fully implemented, moving to our todo on wiki: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.5/Source/Development/Todo/UserInterface#Drag_.26_Drop
