To reproduce:
From a clean install, open Blender and hit F12. The app freezes. I also tried changing the render to New Window and Image Editor with the same result.
The previous (27258) 64 bit version works fine as does 28522, 32 bit version.
I'm running Windows 7 pro x64 with an Nvidia Quadro FX 880M graphics card with 1GB of dedicated memory.

I'm having this same problem on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470
What exactly do you mean by freeze - does it just stop responding to input? Or actually crash?
Doesn't happen here on OS X, rev. 28523, so might need a windows dev to confirm/test here.
Ok - also, is this one that you built yourself? Or perhaps a specific build from online (graphicall etc?)
Same problem on Windows Vista 64 bit with graphicall r28858.
I check the process with task manager and it use not CPU and memory is stable.

Just hit F12 to render the default scene.
Hope this help
I can confirm that as of rev 28861 it I can render the default scene without problems in full screen and new window. I'd say it's fixed. Thanks!!!!
