Hope it haven't been reported yet.
I have a project done with older builds, but in most recent ones the jpegs I had applied as textures don't work. I even can't see them in the UV/Image editor. Pngs (for example) work as expected.
Blender 2.52 Alpha Build: 29164
System specs:
Intel i7 920
Geforce GTX 295
8 GB Ram
Windows 7
Thanks!

Hi Thomas,
This is the same bug as 22452. MinGW compiles but gives errors associated with the recent upgrades to jpeg library. I believe Nathan has been tasked to look into it.
It is a serious bug as it breaks older blendfiles that my contain jpeg images. It will also crash Blender if you try to animate AVI jpeg.

Well, I supose that with colin's explanation, there is no need to upload a blendfile.
Everyway... it happens to me everytime with all recent builds, not just in that project, just trying to load a jpeg in whatever context.
Thanks!
Reopening, because it doesn't make sense yet to have it closed yet. Please, can the reporters (and those who experience the problem) try my recent builds from Graphicall.org? They have been created with MSVC compiler.

Please report back soon.
In additional info, I received an updated jpeg library built with MingW from Sergey to test with MSVC. If that succeeds I'll be committing that plus some fixes that ensure this new library is used.
/Nathan
I've committed the new library.
Please, also try the new Instant Builds from Graphicall.org - yesterday we enabled crossbuilds from Linux for Windows, done with mingw against this new library.
Sergey verified on IRC that the latest library he committed now works properly with MingW. Closing this report.
