Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

Strange bug when minimizing using the task-bar, the same does not happen when using the upper right minimize button, and neither when switching to another program - only when minimizing by clicking the blender process in the windows task-bar.

Steps to reproduce:

* Start blender
* Split the 3d viewport horizontally by dragging in the corner from right to left
* Click the process in the task bar to minimize
* Click again to maximize
* Crash

System info:

* Windows XP Pro (32 bit)
* Intel Core2 Duo U9400
* GPU: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Not sure what exact GPU this is, extract from dxdiag below

Event Timeline

Hi,

Seems like a driver problem and related to windows.
The system information is fine but, can you post a backtrace of the crash ?

Nathan, can you take a look at this ?

Thanks,

- Diego

Yes you are right, it seems like a driver problem. I have attached my gdb session. Problem is with ig4dev32.dll - installed version is 6.14.10.4957. Unfortunately I can't try other driver versions because of corporate policy on this computer.

If there is anything more I can provide, please let me know.

Hi,

Really nothing we can do here, it's a driver problem and not Blender.
I close the report now. If you can update the driver and found more information that can help us to make a "work around" for this class of error, please reply this report and I will reopen it.

Thanks,

- Diego

Diego Borghetti (bdiego) changed the task status from Unknown Status to Archived.Jun 18 2010, 6:34 PM
