UI Text becomes invisible [r29461] [WinXP 32bit]
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

User interface text becomes invisible (see attached screenshot). This happens quite often for me at seemingly "random" times, however I managed to find a way to reliably reproduce it. Sometimes the text will re-appear after fiddling around, but the text will then look corrupted - leading me to believe this might be related to bug #19997

Steps to reproduce:

* Start blender with defaults
* Select user-preferences from file menu
* Go to file and choose any file browser, text will now dissappear from the blender UI
* Immideately close the file browser with the [X] in the upper corner
* UI text remains invisible

If instead of closing the browser, you select a file/directory the text will sometimes re-appear correctly.

As mentioned this will also happen at other seemingly random times.

Hi,

Seems to be the same bug that #19997, can you test with differents OpenGL options ?
ctrl+alt+u -> system -> windows draw method

Please try with differents options to see what happend.

Thanks,

- Diego

Problem is present with all options: Full, Overlap Flip, Overlap, Triple buffer and Automatic.

Overlap seems to have more problems on my system and doesn't re-draw correctly.

Hi,

I have the same issue with r29532. Each time I open a sub-window, like the user prefs or render in a new window, the main blender window text and/or icons are corrupted or missing.

I however found a way to get the display back to normal: close the sub-window and turn full screen (ALT + F11) a few times.

The issue appears on my 2 computers:
Laptop:
- Processor: Intel Core2 Duo P8400
- Graphic card: Intel Mobile 4 series express chipset
- OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bits
Desktop:
- Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E6300
- Graphic car: ATI Radeon HD 5770
- OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bits

Hi,

Seems to be a problem with the drivers and windows XP 32 bits.

Nathan, can you take a look at this ? there is something we can do ?

Thanks,

- Diego

Duplicate of this bug:
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=19997&group_id=9&atid=498

OpenGL texture gets lost on duplicating window, something to do with OpenGL contexts probably.
