Unable to load background images in 2.53 Beta

Description

I am unable to load any images on to blender for background images in blender.

Can you please be more specific? For instance, what procedure are you following to load background images? What are your hardware and OS specifications?

Oh right sorry. I activated the properties menu bar and went to background image, checked the checkbox, and chose the image I wanted. After that it didn't come up in any views I wanted and some how appeared on my camera view. My OS specifications is Windows XP home edition.

Make sure you are in orthographic mode. Background images don't show when in perspective mode. Top-left of your 3d view tells you whether you are in ortho or perspective mode.
