Move backdrop seems do be broken

Description

Somewhere between build 32106 and 32127 the move backdrop function broke.
At least when trying to move it with alt+MMB nothing happens. Same with shift/ctrl+MMB, so it's not a different key-combination.
Happens in every file, including the default startup-file.

Same on Fedora 13 box with SVN Blender Build 32141.

Even tried accessing background move option from the spacebar menu and although the option is there , it doesnt do anything.

Indeed it seems to be broken. I experience additional behaviour: current frame increases.
