Hello,
All the panels and buttons of the Blender interface have disappeared while I was modeling and I couldn't make it displayed again.
I'm using blender-2.55-beta-linux-glibc27-i686 on my laptop with Ubuntu 10.10.
I've attached two screenshots. Hope this helps.

what graphics card and drivers are you using?
Have you been using view clipping? (Alt+B).
I've seen problems like this when using clipping in the 3D view but not as extreme as this.

Please attach the system-info.txt from the text editor, you create it by selecting System Info in the help menu.
Nikita: check our bug report guidelines again too, we only handle reports when they're providing sufficient information.

I've attached 'system-info.txt'. Excuse me, that haven't did it earlier.Excuse me, that haven't did it earlier.
No, I haven't been using view clipping.
I'll try to get this bug again, but it won't be easy
For other commenters, this is release build by khughes (r-UNKNOWN- and time of build tell this). I'll make sure that for next release latest correct revision will be there.
Intel graphics card...
Nikita: based on reports here we know that Intel graphics cards are the weakest in the market for OpenGL.
Nvidia and (usually) ATI give much better results, although for these also many driver issues have been reported.
If you manage to redo this reliably, try it on another system as well (or a different OS). And check if there are driver upgrades! (Moving to opengl issue tracker)
