Pavel: you mean:

The right-mouse menu doesn't show options to insert keys in nodes yes. AFAIK it got disabled, and went to the todo list in wiki, but I can't find a note there.

Joshua: the ID value for nodetree in scene/material is not set, so the id_type_can_have_animdata() returns 0 for it.
I forgot the status of this... i recall it was mentioned. :)
