Well now, If I have a few more programs turned on, like for example now Autocad, Chrome, media player, skype. Blender crashes on startup. I believe that happens because my computer runs out of memory or something like this. I have to turn off a few things to get blender to run.
However, I've seen no other program not run, simply because I have other programs running, so this is undesirable.

Currently:
r33943
Windows 7 64bit
2GB Ram
Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU E8200 @ 2.66Ghz

Nobody (None) changed the task status from Unknown Status to Unknown Status.Dec 31 2010, 11:23 AM

Moved from Blender 2.5 Bug Tracker to OpenGL errors

run blender from a dos console (use type blender.exe -d for debug prints)
It is well possible that autocad uses all graphics memory, not allowing another program to allocate it.

(Moving to opengl tracker, but i'll keep monitoring the issue :)

No. It's not necessarily Autocad.
Same thing happens with other programs aswell, for example, this time I have Gimp turned on instead of Autocad, same crash.
Sometimes it takes to close chrome windows to get it to work.

This is what "blender.exe -d" give:
C:\Users\FreeMind>blender\blender.exe -d

Which seems to give absolutely no information on what happened. But blender still crashed.

Well; then windows should give you a crash report somehow?
What graphics card are you using btw...

All it gives me is the error "Blender.exe has stopped working, A problem caused the program to stop working correctly..." with no further information.
Well, atleast i don't know where to find the further information.

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Did you watch the video?

The video doesn't show anything, apart from evidence of the error, but i did believe you already :)

I don't use windows, so I can't advise you how to find out where the error comes from. But for now, the issue seems to be local to your system, configuration, driver settings, or whatever can be it...

Try to start Blender first, then autocad or gimp? Or try autocad first, then gimp? Or autocad first, then maya or so.
Just keep digging...

Ive got some news:

1) Good news is, this doesn't crash anymore. It's not due to driver updates. I don't know what stopped it.
2) Bad news is, instead of crashing it opens blender with a very low framerate (1-2fps)....

Discovery:
The lag disappears if i turn on Full screen.
