Description

can't output(render) animation with Flash, Xvid, Matroska(under H.264 encoding pannel)

i tried every codecs that i could find and...
also tested ubuntu 10.10 64bit, windows7 64bit
and many other computers(home, office.)
but only got this
"Error initializing video stream."

tested on blender 2.56 r34416

Event Timeline

Confirmed, Ubuntu 10.10 32bit r34451.

Please *always* test with the official release from blender.org, this to rule out compile issues with different ffmpg versions.
For support on own compilations we have other channels...

re-tested with official release 2.56
in re- installed ubuntu 10.10 64bit

Xvid, Matroska works fine but
Flash(fla) still not working

Thanks for retest. Still quite vague this info.
However, ffmpeg is an external library, if the issue is there we can't do much.

Soasis: please attach the simplest .blend file that gives an error for you? It might be related to one of the settings you use, maybe image size or so...

please install the appropriate ubuntu packages: (the regular ffmpeg install in Ubuntu doesn't come with all codecs compiled in for various legal reasons)

sudo apt-get install libavcodec-unstripped-51 libavdevice-unstripped-52 libavformat-unstripped-52 libavutil-unstripped-49 libpostproc-unstripped-51 libswscale-unstripped-0

If that doesn't fix the problem, please reopen the bug report.

Cheers,
Peter
