OGV video strip in VSE has artifacts and black frames *NEED RE-TEST*
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64bit r34534.

While putting together a short video for a different bug report, I noticed that a video that plays fine in mplayer in Ubuntu, was showing artifacts and black frames (100 or so frames in the latter half of the attached blend). The video was recorded with gtkrecordmydesktop.

I did notice that refreshing the sequencer will usually make the black frame show up (usually with artifacts), but jumping back to the begining and Alt+A again will usually show black frames somewhere else.

The black frames are rendered out as well, so it doesn't seem to be just a UI issue.

Event Timeline

We rely on ffmpg to play back videos, I'm afraid we can't do much here.
Will ask peter for final verdict though.

I have to recheck, when "[#22104] Xvid packed videos play faster than they should. Playback ends before strip ends." is fixed, probably same issue.

Cheers,
Peter

That issue Peter told about seems to be fixed after proxies merge. Made some re-test and failed to reproduce.

Please re-test with very recent build from http://builder.blender.org/download/

I think i'll close this report until someone report here if it's still issue.
Feel free to poke me here or in irc if this artifacts still happens for you.

For some closure, I just checked in a recent svn build, and the 2.60a release. It does in fact seem to be fine now, thanks!
