OpenGL Renders give buffer creation errors in console
Closed, ArchivedPublicKNOWN ISSUE

Description

Attached is the system info of irc user done's Blender version.

He mentioned to me that he was getting buffer creation errors when doing opengl renders. Normal render he says work fine. But everytime he does opengl renders they never have worked for him.

So on the off chance there is possible way to fix, I asked him to send me his system info file, which you will find attached. I know its short on details but he really couldn't give me any other info. Hopefully someone can let me know if is possible to get opengl rendering with the graphics card he has, or if its a no hoper.

Some drivers don't support offscreen buffers, I had an intel card which didnt support offscreen rendering at all (Intel GMA 850 IIRC), But updating to a newer ubuntu made it work (10.04 fixed it IIRC).

In these cases I think the only option is to have an opengl render which doesnt use off - screen buffers.

He's using Mesa DRI... not sure about that, but using intel drivers themselves might solve it?

The off-screen render option for opengl is really an improvement, and proven to run on nearly every system OK. I rather don't put efforts in supporting two different drawing systems, unless we find out an active developer has the issue too, and can examine it in more detail.

I'm using a mac from 2004 here btw, which still works OK too with 2.5. Having a workstation or laptop with a minimal opengl support is not a bad requirement.

Moved from Blender 2.5 Bug Tracker to OpenGL errors

Intel drivers run via Mesa DRI IIRC.
