Hi,

Blender crashes at startup if the "Language for non-Unicode programs" is set to Arabic

Blender starts normally If I set it to "English (United States)"

Open "Control Panel" > "Region and Language" > "Administrator" --tab > "Language for non-Unicode programs" --group > "Change system local..." --button

I reported this bug the last year and it has been fixed. I don't know why this error accrued again with the new versions of blender.

Sorry, I can't find My first report about this bug.

System specs:
Windows 7 x64
4 GB Ram
VGA ATI HD 4800 series
CPU AMD Phenom 9950

Alaa El-din,

Event Timeline

I cannot reproduce this.
Which Arabic specifically is set up?
What version of Blender is it?
May be crash is caused by custom preset in start up file. Can you try new builds from graphicall.org.

Or even better, test with http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.57/

As usual: we really require users to do tests with official releases from blender.org, always!

I tested the official release 2.56a beta 32x and 64x and it started OK

Then I tested windows builds "x32&x64" in this link
http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.57
also started ok

then I tested this build from graphicall.org
http://www.graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=1787
revision 35850
also OK

So sorry.
Next time I will be more precise

No problem, thanks for the further testing :)
