Scaled camera can't be selected while in numpad 0 view
Closed, ArchivedPublicTO DO

Description

Using ubuntu 10.10 64bit r36694.

I have attached the blend file, but basically the problem is that if you scale the camera to a certain point using "s", you can no longer select the edges to grab it after you hit numpad 0 near the passpartout lines. I know now to use the camera's scale setting instead of "s", but it was a bit of a head scratcher at first.

A suggestion I mentioned in irc:
another treat for you perhaps: http://www.pasteall.org/blend/6483 I was talking to slkdigit earlier about it. Seems that its caused by scaling the camera with "s" that causes the ability to select the camera to go away. I know how to deal with it properly now, but perhaps a suggestion of allowing people always be able to select the camera while in its view no matter what the scale?

Also, I noticed that while in ortho mode, using the cameras scale setting flattens the camera, but leaves it massively large still (which is why I scaled it in the first place).

You can select camera by using Select menu in the header of 3Dview or by using spacebar search.

True, but it's definitely faster to be able to select it the way I always do, with the edge in the viewport. More of a feature request I guess :)

Just not a bug but something inherant to using opengl for selecting items in Blender.
Only wires or faces that get drawn are part of a select buffer. Small cameras lose selection then (behind clip-start). Code works as it was meant for, fixing this is asking for very bad patches... then better recode numpad-0 camera drawing altogether.
