blank interface in window mode after app-switching away/back
Closed, ArchivedPublicKNOWN ISSUE

Description

1. start blender, dismiss splash screen
2. make sure it's in window mode (not full-screen)
3. switch away with alt-tab
4. switch back
5. move cursor around

At this point either one or all blender window contents disappear and black solid-fill content
is shown instead. After more interaction i.e. mouse clicking within the window area restores
the contents.

Can't reproduce it in full-screen mode, or when switching away/back when the splash screen
is still on.

Can't reproduce it in any way in 2.49b (official version in Ubuntu 11.04)

Blender versions failing:
2.59.2 r40004(svn head),
2.59.2 r39962(from the ppa:cheleb/blender-svn Ubuntu repo)
OS:
Linux/Ubuntu 11.04
Gfx card:
Intel Core M 560 integrated GPU

Intel cards and drivers can be really crappy. Please try running blender-softwaregl and tell if it works for you. Note, that composite effects should be disabled for correct work of softwaregl.

Most probably it's driver/card fault, we already have such reports. Moving report to OpenGL tracker. Feel free to provide additional info when you'll have it/

Moved from Blender 2.5 Bug Tracker to OpenGL errors

Thanks for your answer!

I couldn't figure out how to run v2.59 version in software EGL mode, I haven't found blender-softwaregl.
Google brought it up in connection with 2.49, but that version works anyway, so I didn't bother. Could
you explain how to go about it?

On the other hand I tried disabling compiz based on your comment and that did away with the problem.
