Sculpting on OS X Lion with OpenMP enabled always crashes. The crashing does not happen at a consistent point or time but always happens. Sometimes it crashes after only a few seconds other times after 5 minutes. The level of Multires does not seem to have an affect on the crashing. Disabling OpenMP at build time fixes the crashes immediately.
Crashing is only present on Lion, not Snow Leopard. Sebastian Koenig and I can each confirm this. Problem is present in at least 2.58+
Steps to repeat while using OS X Lion:
1. Open default scene in Blender 2.58 or later
2. Using the default cube, add a Multiresolution modifier
3. Add a few levels of subdivision
4. Begin sculpting with any brush (I use the Clay and Smooth while crashing) and wait for crash. Crash generally occurs after a minute or two.
