Requested functionality originating in this thread on blenderartists.org: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?242421-Graph-Editor-Feature-Requests

Usage:
1. Select the channel
2. Move your mouse to the Graph Editor
3. Press Shift+V or choose Channel > Isolate and Frame from the menu

This script suffers from the fact that custom hotkeys don't seem to work in area regions, but aside from that, it works as advertised.

Event Timeline

Oops.. Wiki URL was too long. Here it is: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php?title=Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Animation/Channel_Isolate_and_Frame

Also, small update to correct wiki and tracker name in the script's bl_info dict
