- The functionality can be accessed on Sequencer Menu via Strip > Ripple Delete.
- The action performed deletes the active strip and shifts back all other strips the number of frames between the beginning of deleted strip and the next edit in the sequence.

This script has been integrated into the bundle Extra Sequencer Actions ( http://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=30474 ).
This standalone version will no longer be maintained and can be deleted.
