Ocean modifier generated texture (foam) doesn't get mapped properly on the generated ocean mesh. Looking at the (very poor) documentation about the ocean modifier, it seems you don't need to unwrap the mesh to have uv coordinates, btw also with uv coordinates the image doesn't get correctly mapped. The same file renders fine under the official 2.62 Blender release.
Under Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit, r45391.

Probably this was already fixed in svn rev45475. Can you please check if it's still issue for you with recent builds from http://builder.blender.org/download/ ?
