Rendering local view.
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

The problem happens when you render image from any part of UI except 3D viewport.

How to:

1). In a new scene add particles to Cube, set particles count to 30000.
2). Duplicate Cube couple of times and set camera to fit all cubes. Play some animation.
3). Now, select any cube and press '/' to isolate it.
4). Render it. It will be ok, but if you render it again, in Image Editor, you will see all cubes and particles. Same happens after you press render button while your mouse out of 3d view.

OS: Ubuntu 10.4 and Windows 7 Ultimate both x64
Blender: 2.63
Revision: 45996

Event Timeline

Also, if you have many particle emitters and they are rotating, this bug will render particles as a mess.

Actually this is duplicate of http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498&aid=29842&group_id=9

Probably it's possible to do tricks like check 3d viewport editor on the same screen area and see if there's local view enabled there but it will be tricky fro mcode point of view and might not reflect other's usage (like when you've been working in 3d viewport then switched to image editor and don't want settings from that viewport affect on render result).

Anyway, it's known behavior and wouldn't consider this is a bug.
