Hey guys,
It seems like Blender can no longer bake/export 16bit tiff files. I'm not sure if it is a problem with the baking or just the image export.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Bake the file in the attached .blend (TS normal map bake) with 16bit checked and 16bit TIFF selected in the Output settings
2) Export as 16bit tif/tiff
3) Exported result is 8bit
Any ideas?

was too quick, generated images have an option to be a floating point buffer or a byte buffer in blender. In the Image properties there is an option `Float Buffer` you need to enable.

Hi Campbell,
Thanks for the reply. I'm was sure I have baked 16bit normal maps without checking the float buffer before, but I must be mistaken.
One thing I noticed is that enabling the Float Buffer also causes bad values when baking normal maps, so it might be an idea to add a curve by default that neutralises the colour correction so that when baking 16bit normal maps people are not wondering why they look crazy. Generally bakes are not something that you want to colour correct in my experience, especially normal maps.
Thanks!
