When i use "glare node" blender crash almost immediately. I noticed this problem since version 2.64. In 2.65 testbuild same thing. But in 2.63a all good. Terminal told me before crash "Segmentation fault (core dumped)".

I couldn't redo any crash with Glare nodes, please attach a .blend file and give the exact steps needed to make it crash?
We have another report about a crash in compositing nodes, with a compositing setup that has two glare nodes, but there we also haven't been able to redo the issue.

Are you using official builds from blender.org sites? If not, please check whether issue happens with this official builds. Are you using OpenCL or CPU compositing? Also, please attach sample .blend file which crashes for you when you're using glare nodes.
I've run couple of tests here and could not see neither crash nor errors reporting by valgrind.
I've prepared linux 64bit debug build of blender which you could download from http://download.blender.org/ftp/incoming/linux-glibc211-x86_64.tar.bz2
Please download it, unpack, install gdb (sudo apt-get install gdb) and then:
- Open a terminal, change directory to where blender executable file is
- run "gdb ./blender" without quotes, it'll start debugger console
- in this console type "run" without quotes, it'll start blender
- work in blender normally for until it crashes with glare node
- when blender will crash, alt-tab to gdb console and type "thread apply all bt"
- copy-paste backtrace to pasteall.org and give link here
This steps will help a lot troubleshooting the issue.
I'm use only official builds. I try as with OpenCL and with CPU. Crash mostly happens when i'm use "shadeless" option in materials. Also it happens even if i used "load factory settings" with default cube and of course "shadeless" material. I don't know why it happens but in ubuntu 12.10 crash very rarely occurs. I download and try build on that link you gave me.
Think i've found one place which could lead to crash. Working on a fix now. Hopefully it's exactly the same culprit which cases this issue :)

Was my mistake in initial patch. Should be fixed in svn rev52681. It'll be available at http://builder.blender.org/download/ soon, please test it and report back :)
