Dear Blender Developer,
with Blender 2.64a (Windows, 64 bit) when I create a plane, map a texture on it, then subdivide (5 cuts) two oposing edges of the plane and delete all of the resulting faces except one (using delete vertex), the UV mapping looks right in edit view and in UV-Editor but wrong when rendered. When rendered, the whole image is mapped to the remaining face. See attached screen shots of edit and render view and the step by step .blend files.
Best regards,
Michael

Thanks for the detailed report, but it looks like this is not a bug. In Texture properties, Mapping panel, select UV instead of Generated. The fact that it matches before the subdivision is a coincidence.
The viewport can only show UV mapped textures, and doesn't necessarily match the texture settings unless you use GLSL drawing.
