Can't render alpha channel after updating

OS: Ubuntu Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit, Kernel Linux 3.2.0-35-generic, GNOME 3.4.2
GFX: nVidia FXQuadro 4500 512mb

--- Blender version with error, and version that worked ---
ERROR: Blender 2.65a SVN53473
WORKED: any previous version

--- Short description of error ---
Can't render Targa or PNG file with alpha channel when the RGBA option is active in the Output properties.

--- Steps for others to reproduce the error (preferably based on attached .blend file) ---
Select Targa or PNG format with the RGBA option enabled and render the animation. And the same file can be rendered correctly (with the alpha channel) in previous version.

We indeed broke compatibility here, you can change the Alpha from Sky to Transparent to make it save with alpha again:

So the RGBA button should be removed, or the user will get confused.
